May I have this Dance?


A boy with orange ratty hair came into the room. He wore a black leather jacket with a white shirt underneath with dressy black pants. On his fingers were black fingerless gloves with flames on the front. The room he was in was a ballroom, what gave it away was the crystal chandelier that hung from the ceiling.

"Yo, Lil' Lightning what's up?" a familiar voice said. The boy known as Lightning turned to see a boy with black hair with dark skin smiling at him.

"Nuka. I see you are here." Lightning laughed. "Enjoying the party?"

"Yup, it's a bet weird having some of the heroes here though, but I guess that's what truces are for." Nuka replied.

Lightning had to agree that this was a bit weird. This was the one time that perhaps the heroes and villains got along. It was also weird that most of them were human. Nuka, him, Shani, and many of the others.

"See you later Lightning." Nuka said and walked off into the crowd of people.

Lightning gave him a salute and walked in the opposite direction. He saw his familiar rival Patch, dancing with a blond haired girl with a pink bow in her hair. While another blond in a fuzzy brown jacket stood watching with a glare. Her name was Angel, if his memory served him right.

"Ah, stop glaring Angel-cakes. You'll get your chance to dance with my bro!" a voice said with a laugh. Lightning saw a young girl around the same age as Patch, she had white hair that came down to her neck on her head was a polka dotted headband with a ribbon that was pure black. Penny. She wore a dark red dress that came down to her knees and black lace at the bottom.

"Do not call me Angel-cakes Penny!" Angel snapped.

"Well, temper, temper." Penny laughed.

Lightning shook her head as the two girls began arguing. Another girl stood in between the two. She had snow white hair like Penny but her eyes were crystal blue, and had a small heart painted on her cheek, she wore a pink dress longer than Penny's. By the look on her face Lightning could guess she didn't like fighting. He walked past the two looking around at the ballroom. Everyone was dancing and laughing.

"Too bad all war can't be like this." Lightning said to himself. He then turned and walked outside onto the balcony.

"Hey there Tiger, what'cha doing all by your lonesome?" a voice from behind asked.

Lightning turned around to see a beautiful female with brown hair with a black bow in her hair. She was wearing a chocolate brown dress that brought out her black eyes. Dixie. Lightning felt his face flush bright red.

"D-D-Dixie!" Lightning said with a smile. "Nothing much just thinking."

"Well, don't you look like a spoonful of sugar!" Dixie said. "What were you getting dressed up for little old me?"

"You are too kind Miss Dixie." Lightning said


Dixie smiled and gave him a tiny shove and then stared out at the full moon. The stars made her eyes sparkle. Lighting smiled and then tapped her shoulder.

"You know this is a dance, so what do you say Miss Dixie?" he asked and held his hand out. "May I have this dance?"

Dixie smiled. "Course you may!" she laughed and took his hand

Lightning awoke with a start. He stood up and shook himself.

"It's about time you woke up." Shani said looming over him. "You've been in a deep sleep. What were you  dreaming about?"

Lightning smiled at her and caught a glance at Dixie flirting with Chief. His eyes saddened. "Nothing much….something stupid I guess." He said
